INTERMITTENT HARSH 1-2 SHIFT

ISSUE
Some 2012-2013 Edge vehicles built on or before 8/2/2012 and Explorer vehicles built on or before 9/3/2012 equipped with a 2.0L GTDI engine and 6F35 transmission may exhibit a concern of an intermittent harsh 1-2 shift. A new calibration is available that will improve the concern.

ACTION
Reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) and the transmission control module (1CM) to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 81.02 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the IDS 2012.9 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
