1980-83 CRUISE MASTER

Engagement Switch, Replace

When routing engagement switch wiring harness through column, place shift bowl in low position, turn signal switch in right turn position and, for tilt and telescope columns, place column in full up position, Fig. 19.
1. Remove steering wheel and cover plate.
2. Remove turn signal lever and conduit from wire assembly.
3. Disconnect engagement switch wire from main wiring harness. Attach long, flexible wire to engagement switch wire connector. Tape wire and connector for smooth passage up through steering column.
4. Pull wiring harness up through steering column until connector is clear of turn signal lever opening. Disconnect long, flexible wire and tape to steering column for use in reinstallation of wiring harness.
5. Reverse procedure to install.

Transducer, Replace

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove wiring connections, vacuum hoses and transmission and speedometer cables from regulator.
3. Remove regulator to bracket screws and remove regulator.
4. Reverse procedure to install.

Vacuum Servo, Replace

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove vacuum source hose from vacuum servo.
3. On models that use a chain link to accelerator, remove chain retainer at swivel. On models that use a rod assembly to accelerator linkage, remove link retainer at accelerator lever stud. Remove rod and linkage from vacuum servo.
4. Remove vacuum servo bracket attaching nuts and remove vacuum servo assembly.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
