A/T - THM 2004R 700R4 TCC Stalls Engine In Drive/Reverse

THM 700-R4

PROBLEM:
Kills Engine in Drive and/or Reverse due to TCC Engagement

POSSIBLE CAUSE:
May have converter clutch apply valve snap ring in backwards.

CORRECTION:




When installing this snap ring, make certain the rounded edge of the ring faces the valve stop. (See Figure)

If installed backwards, the converter clutch apply valve may push the snap ring out of its groove when the valve is returned by spring tension.
