The fuel injection nozzles used on 1983---87 vehicles have a different thread pitch size than on 1982 vehicles. Also, the injection nozzles used on 1983---87 vans are shorter than those used on other models. If replacement becomes necessary, make certain the correct nozzle is used.
1. Disconnect batteries, fuel return clip, fuel return hose and fuel injection line.
2. Remove injection nozzle by applying torque to largest nozzle hex with tool J-29873, Fig. 38.
3. Reverse procedure to install. Torque nozzle to 50 ft. lbs. Torque fuel injection line to 20 ft. lbs.
