Some vehicles may experience a hood flutter condition due to a loss of adhesion between the hood panel and underhood support braces.

When the vehicle is driven, air enters the engine compartment and forces the hood upward. Variations in the road surface and in the amount of air passing through the engine compartment cause the hood panel to move up and down (Flutter).

To correct this condition remove the adhesive which is not bonding the hood panel to the underhood support braces. Remove all grease and dirt from the area where new adhesive will be applied. The replacement adhesive should be a fast curing structural adhesive such as that offered in 3M Hood Flutter Repair Kit P/N 051135-08105. Other suitable adhesives may exist.
