Cuts Out/Misses

1. Perform thorough visual inspection as outlined in "Intermittent Condition Diagnosis".
2. With engine running at idle, disconnect IAC motor, then remove spark plug wires one at a time while observing engine operation.
3. If RPM drops on all cylinders, refer to "Rough Idle, Stalling" diagnosis. If RPM does not drop for 1 or more cylinders, check spark and mechanical condition for affected cylinders and repair as needed.
4. If engine mechanical condition and ignition system are satisfactory, check injectors as follows:

a. Disconnect fuel injector electrical connectors.
b. Connect 6 volt injector test lamp J-344730-2 or equivalent between electrical connector and injector, then crank engine.
c. If lamp fails to flash at any injector, check for faulty injector drive circuit, damaged wiring or improper electrical connections and repair as needed.
