LubricateSteering and Suspension
Lubricate the front suspension (or every 12 months, whichever occurs first). Lubricate ball joints, kingpin bushings, steering linkage, transmission shift linkage, transfer case shift linkage, parking brake cable guides, rear driveline center splines, front axle propshaft splines and brake pedal springs. Ball joints and kingpin bushings should not be lubricated unless their temperature is -12 degrees C (10 degrees F) or higher or they could be damaged.
Clutch Release Fork, M/T
Lubricate clutch fork ball stud (5-speed manual transmission with RPO MW3 only).
Inspect/Adjust
Ignition Timing
Inspect
Thermostatic Air Cleaner
Heavy Duty Emissions Only; Inspect all hoses and ducts for proper hook-up. Make sure the valve works properly.
Radiator Cooling Fan
Heavy Duty Emissions Only; If your engine has a thermostatically controlled cooling fan, inspect hoses and ducts for proper hook-up. Be sure the valve works properly. U.S. vehicles only.
Ignition Cable
Heat Shield, Exhaust
Heavy Duty Emissions Only; Inspect shields and underhood insulation For damage or looseness. Adjust or replace as required. U.S. vehicles only.
Fuel Tank
Inspect the fuel tank(s), cap and lines for damage or leaks. Inspect the fuel cap gasket for any damage. Replace parts as needed.
Exhaust Gas Recirculation
Heavy Duty Emissions Only. Perform EGR system check.
Evaporative Emissions System
Heavy Duty Emissions Only; Inspect all the fuel and vapor lines and the hoses for proper hook-up, routing and condition. Ensure that the purge valve works properly, if equipped. Replace
EGR Electronic Vacuum Regulator Solenoid
Heavy Duty Emissions Only.
Drive Belt
Inspect the accessory drive belt for cracking, fraying, wear, improper tension. Adjust or replace as necessary.
Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose
Heavy Duty Emissions Only; Inspect the air intake system installation to assure that gaskets are properly sealed and that all hose connections, fasteners and other components are tight. Also check to be sure that the air cleaner housing is properly seated and the cover fits tightly. Tighten connections and fasteners or replace damaged parts as necessary. U.S. vehicles only.
Replace
Spark Plug
Oil Filter, Engine
Or every 3 months, whichever occurs first.
Fuel Filter
Fluid Filter - A/T
Fluid - Differential
If driving in dusty areas or trailer towing applications.
Fluid - A/T
Manual transmission fluid does not require change.
Engine Oil
Or every 3 months, whichever occurs first.
Air Filter Element
Inspect the air cleaner filter more often if vehicle is driven in dusty conditions. Replace the filter if necessary.
Clean/Repack
Wheel Bearing
Clean and repack the front wheel bearings (or at each brake relining whichever occurs first).
Flush
Cooling System
Drain, flush and refill cooling system with coolant (or every 24 months since last service, whichever occurs first). Inspect the coolant hoses and replace the hoses if the following conditions exist; cracking, swelling, deterioration. Tighten all of the clamps (except the constant tension clamps). Remove debris and clean the outside of the radiator and air conditioning condenser. Wash the radiator neck. Pressure test the radiator and the cap.
