Fixed Antenna Mast Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDUREThe fixed mast barbless antenna mast is designed to withstand most car washes without damage. The mast cannot be adjusted up or down. Straighten the mast by hand if the mast becomes slightly bent. Replace the antenna if the antenna becomes severely bent. keep the antenna clean for good performance.
1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Unthread the radio antenna mast.
3. Remove the air inlet grille.
4. Remove the antenna cable mounting bolts.
5. Remove the radio.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the instrument panel.
6. Roll the instrument panel back. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP in Instrument panel. Service and Repair
7. Remove the antenna cable from the clip at the HVAC module.
8. Remove the antenna through the grommet on the cowl.
9. Remove the antenna cable from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the antenna cable to the vehicle.
2. Install the antenna cable though the grommet on the cowl.
3. Install the antenna cable to the clip at the HVAC module.
4. Roll the instrument panel up. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP in Instrument panel. Service and Repair
5. Install the radio.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
6. Install the antenna mounting bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the antenna mounting bolts to 2 N-m (18 lb in).
7. Install the air inlet grille.
8. Install the radio antenna mast.
9. Install the wiper arms.
10. Verify component operation.
