This bulletin is being issued to inform dealer personnel about availability of remote keyless entry system transmitters (key fobs) for the Chevrolet Express Access and GMC Savana PRO access panels.
The access panels on the Express Access and Savana PRO have a unique transmitter that opens the three access panels as well as lock and unlock the driver and passenger doors. The transmitter has the same 4 button configuration as the standard transmitter with different symbols on the buttons.
This unique transmitter is no longer available through GMSPO.
If a customer reports an inoperative, damaged or missing transmitter, and an access panel transmitter with part number 88979577 requires replacement, it should be replaced with the standard 4 button transmitter, part number 15752330.
The difference between the two transmitters is the standard transmitter will not have the panel symbols on the buttons; it will have the standard symbols indicating Lock, Unlock, Panic Alarm and Cargo Door. The function of the transmitter is not affected. Reprogramming/Coding of the transmitter to the vehicle, resynchronization and battery replacement remains the same.
For transmitter reprogramming/coding, refer to Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter Programming in SI. For transmitter resynchronization, refer to the vehicle Owner Manual.
The pictures below illustrate the access panel transmitter (top) and the standard transmitter (bottom).
The following table is a cross reference of the buttons between the two transmitters:
The function of the transmitter buttons are as follows:
- Lock: Press this button to lock all of the doors.
