This bulletin is being revised to add the 1996 model year and include a Diagnostic and, Troubleshooting Guide. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 53-90-04 (Section 9 - Accessories).
This bulletin provides warranty and service information for GM Goodwrench Security Systems. A Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Guide (Publication PR06109513) is included with this bulletin.

Warranty Information
Dealer reimbursement for warranty includes the parts cost at dealer price plus applicable handling allowance. Specific labor operations are provided for the Goodwrench Security and Keyless Entry accessory packages. These labor operations should not be confused with RPO theft deterrent labor operations for other systems such as VATS and RPO Keyless Entry systems.
The recent changes to the GM Parts product offering has resulted in some important changes in claim submission. Included in this bulletin is a complete listing of labor operations for both old and new systems. Up to 0.3 hours may be claimed for diagnosis. When necessary, this add time is to be claimed as other labor hours.
Canadian dealers should use the closest applicable labor operation number, with appropriate authorization.
GMSPO has released all major system component parts. It will no longer be necessary to use complete package part numbers for warranty reimbursement. Only the specific failed parts are to be listed on claims. Claims that list the complete package part number will be returned for resubmission.
A service kit containing 2 valet switches, 2 LED indicators, 2 disarm buttons, and a connector, is available for these specific serviceable items.
Important: Certain labor operations listed below may not be used on some car or truck lines. Consult the individual Labor Time Guide for correct usages.
Transmitter batteries are the responsibility of the vehicle owner. Weak batteries should be diagnosed through the "Transmitter Range Test Procedure" contained in the owner manual prior to performing other diagnostic procedures.
