Performance Test
Manifold Gage Set:
Performance test of the repaired compressor is made by installing the compressor on the vehicle and checking pressure measurements made with a manifold gage set while operating the air conditioning system.
NORMAL OPERATION
Measure
Pressures with suction port air temperature at about 30°-35°C (85°-95°F), engine speed at 2000 rpm, and the control head set at the COOL position.
^ Low pressure side gage reading specification: 1.5 - 2.0 kg/cu. cm. (21.3 - 28.4 psi).
^ High presure side gage reading specification: 14.4 - 15 kg/cu. cm. (206 - 213 psi).
If the low pressure side reads too high or the high pressure side to low, the probable cause is leakage from the reed valve inside the compressor or a broken sliding part (piston, cylinder, or others). In such a case, the compressor must be disassembled, repaired, or replaced. Following, a recheck should be made.
