Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

WARNING: To avoid danger of being burned, DO NOT touch exhaust system when system is hot. Oxygen sensor removal should be performed when system is cool.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.

2. Disconnect oxygen sensor connector.

3. Remove exhaust manifold upper cover.

4. Remove oxygen sensor from exhaust manifold.

INSTALLATION

1. Install oxygen sensor to exhaust manifold. Tighten oxygen sensor to 33-39 lb. ft. (45-55 N-m).

2. Install exhaust manifold cover.

3. Connect oxygen sensor connector.

4. Connect negative battery cable.
