Ignition Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable.
2. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plugs by gripping boot firmly. Turn the boot one half turn when removing the wire.

CAUTION: Do NOT attempt to remove the spark plug wire by pulling on it. Pull and twist the wire boot only.

3. Remove the distributor cap by removing the 3 screws.

NOTE: If possible, leave any spark plug wire guides attached to the wires. This will aid in proper re-installation of the wires.


INSTALLATION

1. Install the distributor cap and tighten the 3 screws.
2. Install the spark plug wires to the spark plugs by pressing the boots firmly onto the plugs.
3. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
