REAR HUB/BEARING

Fig. 1 Measuring Hub Axial Play:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Using suitable jack stands, support rear suspension, then remove rear brake drum assembly.
4. Check hub axial play at hub flange, Fig. 1, using suitable dial indicator. If axial play is greater then 0.020 inch, replace hub assembly.
5. Remove four hub to knuckle bolts, then the hub assembly.
6. Reverse procedures to install.
