Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Body Assembly - VIN 5:






Remove or Disconnect:
1. Ignition "OFF."
2. Electrical connector from throttle position sensor.
3. 2 attaching screws.
4. Throttle position sensor from throttle body.

Install or Connect:
1. Throttle position sensor to throttle body.
2. Two attaching screws.
3. Adjust switch.
^ Refer to Adjustment Procedures below.
^ Torque attaching screws to 2 N-m (18 lb.ft.).
4. Electrical connector.

Adjustment Procedure
1. Remove electrical connector from throttle switch.
2 Loosen two (2) fasteners at throttle switch.
3. Insert, 0.35 mm (0.0138") feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and throttle lever,
4. Using DVM check for continuity between "E2" and "IDL" terminals of throttle switch, should have continuity.
5. Insert 0.59 mm (0.0232"). Should have no continuity.
6. Rotate the throttle switch if necessary to adjust.
7. Tighten fasteners.
8. Reconnect electrical connector.
