Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc: Description and Operation
The electronically tuned radio (ETR) is an AM/FM RADIO that changes stations electronically. The frequency of preselected stations can be stored in the electronic memory. The radio also provides a digital display of time and station frequency.
Fuse C-5 located in the JUNCTION BLOCK, provides voltage at all times to the radio for clock and station memory. If power is cut off for any reason, the clock and station memory must be reset after power is restored.
Fuse C-1 provides main voltage to the RADIO when the ignition switch is in "ACC" or "ON" position. Voltage is applied through Fuse C-1 and the ORN/YEL wire to the power switch in the RADIO. The circuit is grounded at G202. When the power switch is in ON, voltage is applied to the solid-state RADIO circuits to ground.
Two wires connect each SPEAKER to the radio. Lighting of the radio is controlled through the Light Switch and dimming is controlled by the Illumination Controller.
