High-Pressure Relief Valve

Case Temperature Switch & High-Pressure Relief Valve:

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Compressor from vehicle.
^ Mount compressor into vise.
^ Unscrew and remove high-pressure relief valve. with O-ring seal, from compressor.
3. O-ring seal from high-pressure relief valve.
^ Discard old O-ring seal.

Install or Connect

^ Lubricate new O-ring seal with air conditioner compressor oil GM P/N 12345762.
1. New O-ring seal to high-pressure relief valve.
2. High-pressure relief valve to compressor.

Tighten
^ High-pressure relief valve to 11 N.m (97 lb.in.).

^ Remove compressor from vise.
3. Compressor to vehicle.
4. Negative (-) battery cable.

Tighten
^ Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb.ft.).
