Component Tests and General Diagnostics
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The "Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Diagnostic Circuit Test" is used to help identify a problem with TPS voltage supplied to the Transmission Control Module (TCM), or a faulty ECM. An improper voltage to the TCM would result in improper shift points, or improper transmission downshifting.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation or a wire broken inside the insulation. Inspect the TCM harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damages terminals and poor terminal-to-wire connections.
