1. Refer to TRANSAXLE procedure to remove transaxle.
2. Install suitable tool into pilot bearing to support clutch assembly during removal.
3. Check for X mark or white painted letter on pressure plate and corresponding mark stamped on flywheel. If no markings are found, mark flywheel and pressure plate for assembly purposes.
4. Loosen pressure plate to flywheel mounting bolts 1 turn at a time until spring pressure is released, Fig. 3. It may be necessary to use flywheel holder tool No. J-35271 or equivalent to hold flywheel in position when loosening bolts.
5. Remove bolts, pressure plate and clutch disc.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate splines of transaxle input shaft and pilot bearing surface and release bearing with lithium wheel bearing grease. Torque pressure plate attaching bolts to 17 ft. lbs.
