DESCRIPTION
The front suspension, Fig. 1 on this vehicle is a McPherson strut design. The upper end of the strut is anchored to the body by a strut support.
OPERATION
The strut and strut support are isolated by a rubber mount. The lower end of the strut is connected to the upper end of the steering knuckle. The lower end of the knuckle is attached to the ball joint, which is attached to the suspension control arm assembly. Movement of the steering wheel is transmitted to the tie-rod end and then to the knuckle, turning the wheel and tire assembly.
