DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS

While running in 3rd or 4th gear, "D" range, Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) control of Transmission Control Module (TCM) does not agree with actual operation of the TCC even though TCC control solenoid valve is electrically in good condition.


ACTION TAKEN

A DTC P0741 is stored and both the "OD/OFF" and the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" indicators are turned "ON."

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. Checks for transmission shifting performance by checking for proper shift points.

2. Checks for a faulty TCC solenoid.

3. Determines whether the condition is related to a fault in the valve body assembly or in the torque converter clutch.
