DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS

While running in "D" range, gear change control from Transmission Control Module (TCM) to the transmission does not agree with actual gear position even though solenoid valve # 1 is electrically in good condition (gear position is calculated based on engine speed and vehicle speed). Two driving cycle detection logic.


ACTION TAKEN

A DTC P0756 is stored and both the "OD/OFF" and the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" indicators are turned "ON."

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

Numbers below refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. Checks for transmission shifting performance by checking for proper shift points.

2. Checks for a faulty shift solenoid assembly.

3. Determines whether the condition is related to a fault in the valve body assembly or within the transmission.
