Driver's Inflator Module

Prior to performing replacement procedures, disarm air bag system. Refer to, Service and Repair/ Air Bag System Disarming & Air Bag System Arming. Refer to, / Specifications/ Mechanical for torque values when installing components. Specifications
All sensors and mounting bracket bolts must be carefully torqued to assure proper operation. Never power up the air bag system when any sensor is not rigidly attached to the vehicle, since the sensor could be activated when not attached, causing air bag deployment.


Removal
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering wheel pad assembly screws, then pull up on pad.
3. Disconnect inflator module and horn electrical connections, then remove inflator module from steering wheel.

Installation
1. Connect inflator module and horn electrical connections.
2. Install steering wheel pad assembly to steering wheel, then the screws. Tighten inflator screws to specifications.
3. Connect battery ground cable.
