Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
This Switch is installed on the automatic transaxle. The PCM detects transaxle range by monitoring the ON/OFF signal from the switch and uses this signal as one of the signals to control the fuel injector, Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor and automatic transaxle performance.
