Panel Illumination Control Module: Service and Repair

Instrument Panel Assembly:





Remove or Disconnect
1. Disable the SIR.
2. Negative (-) battery terminal.
3. Knee bolster.
4. Two bolts, two nuts and drop steering column.
5. Illumination controller electrical connector.
6. Clip on bottom of illumination controller by pushing up with a pick.
7. Illumination controller from left garnish trim panel.

Install or Connect
1. Illumination controller to left garnish trim panel. Push in until clip fully engages.
2. Illumination controller electrical connector.
3. Steering column to instrument panel; secure with two bolts and two nuts.

Tighten
^ Steering column bolts and nuts to 15 N.m (11 lb.ft.).

4. Knee bolster.
5. Negative (-) battery cable.
6. Enable the SIR.
