Automatic Transaxle Equipped Vehicles

Cranking Circuit:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Solenoid from starter motor.

Removing Commutator End Cover:

2. Two screws, two bolts and commutator end cover with spring washer.
3. Brush holder from yoke, and brushes from brush holder.
4. Armature bushing from armature.

Removing Armature From Yoke:

5. Armature from yoke.
6. Scribe matchmarks on the yoke and drive housing to ensure proper assembly.
7. Yoke from drive housing.
8. Armature bearing from gear shaft.

Idle Gear Retainer And Idle Gears:

9. Idle gear retainer and three idle gears from drive housing.

Pinion Drive Lever Seal And Plate:

10. Pinion drive lever seal and plate from drive housing.

Gear Shaft Assembly:

11. Gear shaft assembly with pinion drive lever from drive housing.

Removing Overrunning Clutch Retaining Ring:

12. Pull overrunning clutch stop ring towards over-running clutch assembly and remove overrunning clutch retaining ring.
13. Overrunning clutch stop ring and overrunning clutch assembly from gear shaft assembly.
14. Internal gear from gear shaft.
