Load Compensator: Service and Repair
Load Sensing Proportioning Valve Pipes:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
3. Three brake pipes from the Load Sensing Pressure Valve (LSPV). Plug the end of the brake pipes to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
Load Sensing Proportioning Valve Assembly Bolts:
4. Two bolts and separate LSPV assembly from vehicle frame.
5. Two bolts securing LSPV load sensing spring bracket to rear suspension upper arm .
6. LSPV assembly from vehicle.
LSPV Load Sensing Spring And Bracket:
7. Load sensing spring and spring bracket from LSPV lever.
CAUTION: Do not loosen or tighten LSPV assembly nuts and bolts. The LSPV is not serviceable and must be replaced as a unit. Do not attempt to disassemble the LSPV.

LSPV Load Sensing Spring Lubrication:
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Load sensing spring and spring bracket to LSPV lever.
2. Apply chassis lubricant, GM P/N 1052497 or equivalent, to load sensing spring upper and lower joints.
3. LSPV load sensing spring bracket to rear suspension upper arm, secure with two bolts then tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
4. LSPV assembly to vehicle frame, secure with two bolts then tighten to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
5. Three brake pipes to LSPV assembly.
6. Bleed the brakes. Service and Repair
7. Lower vehicle.
8. Negative (-) battery cable.
9. Perform spring adjustment procedure. Adjustments
