Load Compensator: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: - Tools Required:
^ J 35604 or equivalent pressure gage.
^ J 37773 or equivalent pressure gage adapter.





WEIGHT LOAD TEST
Pre-Test Conditions
The following conditions must be met before proceeding:
^ Fuel tank must be full.
^ Vehicle is loaded with spare tire, tools, jack, and jack handle.
^ Vehicle is free from any other load.
^ Vehicle is on a level floor.

Install Test Equipment
1. Place 100 kg (221 lbs.) weight slowly in the cargo area, right above the rear axle.
2. Install a pressure gage with a pressure gage adapter to the left front caliper bleeder valve.
3. Install a pressure gage with a pressure gage adapter to the rear wheel cylinder bleeder valve.

Measure
1. While pressing the brake pedal gradually until front brake hydraulic pressure reaches 50 kg/sq.cm (711 psi), observe rear brake hydraulic pressure. Compare reading with specifications below.
^ With front brake pressure @ 50 kg/cm (711 psi) the rear pressure should be 20-32 kg/sq.cm (285-455 psi).
2. Increase front brake hydraulic pressure to 100 kg/sq.cm (1422 psi) and observe rear brake hydraulic pressure. Compare reading with specifications below.
^ With front brake pressure @ 100 kg/sq.cm (1422 psi) the rear pressure should be 30-44 kg/sq.cm (427-625 psi).
3. Perform adjustment procedure if necessary. Adjustments

Remove Or Disconnect
1. Pressure gages and pressure gage adapters.
2. 100 kg (221 lbs.) weight.
3. Bleed the brakes. Service and Repair
