Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Troubleshooting Hints

1. Check the IG-COIL METER Fuse and the STOP-HORN Fuse with a fuse tester.
2. Check that grounds G200 and G202 are clean and tight.
3. Visually inspect the Cruise Control wiring, mechanical linkage, and components for damage.
4. Always check and repair any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) first he fore attempting to troubleshoot the Cruise Control System.
5. Verify that the Speedometer and Vehicle Speed Sensor are functioning correctly.
6. If the Tap-Up and Tap-Down functions are the only fault with the system, replace the Cruise Control Module.
7. Check for an open or shorted filament within the inoperative bulb.
8. An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation or a wire broken inside the insulation. Inspect the harness connectors for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and for poor terminal-to-wire connections before any component replacement.
