Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose and clamp from the MAP sensor.
3. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the one bolt and the MAP sensor and bracket from the bulkhead.
5. Remove the MAP sensor from the MAP sensor bracket.


Installation Procedure
1. Install the MAP sensor to the MAP sensor bracket.
2. Install the MAP sensor and bracket to the bulkhead.
3. Secure the MAP sensor bracket to the bulkhead with the one bolt. Tighten the MAP sensor bracket bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).
4. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
5. Connect the vacuum hose to the MAP sensor and secure with one clamp.
6. Connect the negative (-) battery cable. Tighten the negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 5.5 Nm (4 lb. ft.).
