Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Description:








Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the two bolts from the throttle body.
4. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.


Installation Procedure






1. Align the TP sensor onto the throttle body so that the sensor pickup lever can engage with the throttle body lever.
2. Secure the TP sensor with two bolts. Do not tighten fully.
3. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
4. Connect the negative (-) battery cable. Tighten the negative (-) battery cable-to-the negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).
