Flow Solenoid

1. Using a suitable ohmmeter, check for continuity between A and B terminals, Fig. 7. If no continuity, replace solenoid.

2. Connect a suitable vacuum pump to solenoid as shown in Fig. 8, then draw vacuum. Solenoid should retain vacuum. If not, replace solenoid.
3. Connect the solenoid operating vacuum motor to solenoid.
4. Connect a lead from the battery positive terminal to the A terminal of solenoid, and a lead from the negative terminal to B terminal of solenoid.
5. Draw vacuum. The solenoid operating vacuum motor arm should retract. If not, replace solenoid.
