Compressor HVAC: Service and Repair

1. Run engine at idle speed and turn on A/C for a few minutes.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Discharge refrigerant from system.
4. Disconnect compressor clutch lead.
5. Disconnect suction and discharge hoses from compressor and cap all openings.
6. Remove belt cover bolt.
7. Remove compressor adjusting and mount bolt, then loosen the pivot and mount bolt, Fig. 4.
8. Remove belt cover and lift belt off pulley, Fig. 4.
9. Remove pivot and mount bolt, then remove compressor.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
