Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Relieve fuel pressure, refer to ``Relieving System Fuel Pressure'' procedure.
3. Disconnect fuel injector electrical connector, then the vacuum hose and fuel return hose from pressure regulator.
4. Remove injector attaching nuts, then disconnect fuel pipe.
5. Remove injector from intake manifold.
6. Install new cushion rings and O-rings on the injector. Coat O-rings with oil to facilitate installation.
7. Install injectors into fuel pipe. Use caution not to damage O-rings.
8. Press new seal rings into intake manifold, then install injector and fuel pipe assembly in the manifold. Use caution not to damage O-rings.
9. Install and tighten injector attaching bolts.
10. Connect vacuum hose and fuel return hose to the pressure regulator, then the injector electrical connectors.
