Discharge (High Side) Pressure Abnormally High
1. Cool condenser with water while observing high side pressure.
2. If pressure does not return to normal, check for excessive charge in system. Evacuate system, recharge with specified quantity of refrigerant and repeat test.
3. If high pressure drops when condenser is cooled, check for improper air flow through condenser. Check for damaged or clogged condenser fins, and improper condenser fan operation.
4. Feel condenser inlet. If line is excessively hot, check for refrigerant restrictions and repair as needed.
5. Observe pressure readings after stopping engine.
6. If pressure drops quickly to approximately 28 psi, then drops gradually, check for air in system. Evacuate and recharge system, check for leaks and repeat performance check.
