PGM-CARB Problem Code 1
PROBLEM
The Check Engine warning light comes on and the PGM-CARB ECU indicates Problem Code 1 while accelerating in a high gear, either uphill or at a large throttle opening.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install the Jet Needle Set listed under PARTS INFORMATION.
PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the vacuum chambers on both carburetors, then remove both vacuum chambers.
2. Remove the vacuum piston spring and vacuum piston from each carburetor.
3. Remove the stopper, needle holder, and needle holder spring from each vacuum piston.
4. Remove the original jet needies (8HB) from both vacuum pistons and replace them with the new jet needles (8HBB).
NOTE:
^ Hold the vacuum piston upside down while reinstalling the needle holder and its spring.
^ If the vacuum spring collar falls out of the vacuum piston, make sure it's reinstalled with the flat side down.
5. Reassemble the carburetors in the reverse order of disassembly.
