Clutch: Adjustments





1. Loosen clutch switch or adjusting bolt locknut A, Fig. 3, then back off clutch switch or adjusting bolt until it no longer comes in contact with clutch pedal.
2. Loosen master cylinder locknut C, then turn pushrod in or out until specified stroke A and height C have been obtained.
a. Clutch Pedal Stroke: 5.12-5.51 inches
b. Clutch Pedal Free Play: 0.47-0.83 inches
c. Clutch Pedal (undepressed) to floorboard: 6.46 inches
d. Clutch Pedal (fully depressed) to floorboard: 3.27 inches
3. Tighten locknut C, then thread clutch pedal switch or adjusting bolt A in until it contacts clutch pedal. Turn another 3/4 to one full turn further, then tighten locknut A.
4. Loosen clutch interlock switch locknut B, then measure clearance between floor board and clutch pedal with clutch pedal fully depressed.
5. Release clutch pedal 0.59-0.79 inch from fully depressed position and hold.
6. Adjust position of pedal switch B so that engine will start with clutch pedal in this position.
7. Thread pedal switch B in 3/4 to one full turn further, then tighten locknut B.
