Installation




1. Install the dowel pins.




2. Apply grease to the parts as shown, then install the release fork and release bearing.

NOTE: Use only Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002).

3. Install the release fork boot.
4. Place the transmission on the transmission jack, and raise it to the engine level.




5. Install the transmission mounting bolts and transmission rear mount bracket bolts.




6. Install the three upper transmission mounting bolts and lower starter mounting bolt.




7. Raise the transmission, then install the transmission side mount.

NOTE: Torque the mounting bolt and nuts in the sequence shown.




8. Install the front stopper bracket.
9. Install the splash guard.




10. Remove the chain hoist, then reinstall the distributor mounting bolt.




11. Install the clutch cover, then install the front and rear engine stiffeners (D16Z6 engine).




12. Install the change rod, spring pin, and clip.

NOTE:
- Install the clip as shown.
- Turn the boot so the hole is facing down.
- Make sure the boot is installed on the change rod.

13. Install the change extension.




14. Install exhaust pipe A.
15. Install the driveshafts. Service and Repair

NOTE: Replace the set rings with new ones.

16. Install the ball joint onto the lower arm.




17. Install the damper fork.




18. Install the slave cylinder, then install the clutch pipe stay.

NOTE: Use only Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002).

19. Connect the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) connector, back-up light switch connector, transmission ground wire, and starter motor cables.

NOTE: When installing the starter cable, make sure that the crimped side of the ring terminal is facing out.




20. Install the wire harness clamp.




21. Install the resonator, air cleaner assembly, and intake air duct.




22. Turn the breather cap so that the "F" mark points at an angle of 300 towards the front of the car as shown.
23. Refill the transmission with oil.
24. Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) cables to the battery.
25. Check the clutch operation.
26. Shift the transmission and check for smooth operation.
27. Adjust the ignition timing.
28. Check the front wheel alignment.
