Noise From del Sol Roof
(Supersedes 93-023, dated October 31, 1994)

SYMPTOM

A rattle, creak, or chattering noise from the root while driving.

DIAGNOSIS

1. With an assistant, test drive the car, and listen for the noise with both doors open slightly. If the noise is gone, refer to Bulletin 93-025 (Civic del Sol Door Rattle). If not, go to step 2.

2. Remove the root and continue the test drive. If the noise is gone, find the car's VIN group below, and make the repairs listed for it. If you still hear the noise with the roof off, go to step 3.

[NEW] 3. If you still hear the noise with the roof off, and it sounds like metal-to-metal contact in one of the B-pillars, follow the REPAIR steps for Group [ ][ ][ ][ ][E].

NOTE:
If the car has been previously repaired, the rear bushings will be teflon instead of plastic.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
