Leak From the Power Steering Pump
SYMPTOM
Fluid is leaking from the power steering pump between the pump housing and the cover.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The 0-ring between the pump housing and the cover is leaking.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the 0-ring between the pump housing and the cover.

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to section 17 of the appropriate Service Manual.
2. Remove the fours bolts that secure the pump cover to the pump housing, and remove the cover.
3. Remove the old 0-ring. Coat a new 0-ring with clean power steering fluid, and install the new 0-ring onto the pump cover.
4. Align the rollers with the holes in the pump cover, and install the cover. Torque the four mounting bolts to 20 N.m (14 lb-ft).
5. Reinstall the power steering pump, and adjust the belt tension. Refer to section 17 of the appropriate service manual.
6. Start the engine, turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock, and check the power steering fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.
7. Make sure the power steering pump does not leak.
