Roof Molding Is Warped or Loose

SYMPTOM

One or both ends of the roof molding are warped or loose.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Excess sealer around the base of one or both pins in the roof.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Remove the excess sealer from around the roof molding mounting pins. Inspect the roof molding, and replace it if necessary.

Out of warranty:
Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.

REPAIR PROCEDURE





1. Pull up on one end of the affected roof molding with your fingers, then slide the end toward you and pull it up to release the bracket from the pin.

2. Peel the molding out of the channel.

3. Slide the other end of the molding toward you, then pull it up to release the bracket from the pin. Remove the entire molding.





4. Use a flat-tip screwdriver to scrape any excess sealer from around the base of the pins.

5. Check the condition of the removed roof molding.

^ If the molding material is not warped and the brackets are not bent, reinstall the molding in the reverse order of removal.

^ If the molding material is warped or either of the brackets is bent, install a new molding.

6. If necessary, repeat steps 1 thru 5 for the other roof molding.
