Front Seat Removal/InstallationSpecial Tools Required

For some models: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, and then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Remove the front seat track end covers from the front of both seat tracks.
4. Remove the rear outer seat track end cover.
5. Remove the rear inner seat track end cover.
6. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A).
7. Lift up the front seat, then disconnect the seat belt switch connector (A) or the seat subharness connector (B) on the driver's and passenger's seats, the seat belt buckle tensioner connector (C) on the driver's and passenger's seats, and the side airbag connector (D) on some driver's and passenger's seats.
8. Remove the headrest.
9. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.
10. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Apply liquid thread lock to the seat mounting bolts before reinstallation.
- Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it forward and tighten (3) and (4).
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the customer's radio station presets.
- Reset the clock.
- Do the PCM idle learn procedure and the power window control unit reset procedure.
