Crankshaft Position Sensor: Description and Operation

Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
The CKP sensor detects crankshaft speed. It is used by the ECM/PCM to determine ignition timing and timing for fuel injection of each cylinder, as well as to detect engine misfire.
