DTC P0710 Set - Possible ATF Temp Sensor Faulty

SOURCE:
Honda Service News July 2003

TITLE:
DTC P0710 Set? Look for a Faulty ATF Temp Sensor.

APPLIES TO:
2002-03 Odysseys and 2003 Pilots

SERVICE TIP:
A faulty ATF temperature sensor or a problem with the ATF temperature sensor circuit can cause DTC P0710 (ATF temperature sensor) to set in
2002-03 Odysseys and 2003 Pilots. This DTC sets because of an electrical problem, not from any mechanical problem in the A/T.

To fix this problem, replace the ATF temperature sensor (see section 14 of the appropriate S/M). You can access the sensor without disassembling
the A/T. If the sensor is broken, carefully insert a self-tapping screw to fish out the part that's broken. Don't push on the broken part while
you're doing this; it could fall down into the A/T and you'll end up having to replace the entire unit.
