Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection
Wiper Motor TestWindshield:
1. Remove the cowl cover.
2. Disconnect the wiper motor connector (A) from the wiper motor (B).
3. Test the motor by connecting battery power to the wiper motor 4P connector No. 1 terminal and grounding the No. 3 terminal. The motor should run. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the motor.
4. Connect an analog voltmeter between the No. 4 (+) and No. 2 (-) terminals, ground No. 2 terminal, and run the motor. The voltmeter should indicate 0 V and 4 V or less alternately. If the motor does not indicate the specified voltage, replace the motor.
Rear Window:
1. Remove the tailgate trim panel.
2. Disconnect the 4P connector (A) from the rear window wiper motor (B).
3. Test the motor by connecting battery power and ground according to the table. If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace it.
4. Connect an analog voltmeter between the No. 5 (+) and No. 3 ( ) terminals, ground No. 3 terminal, and run the motor at low or high speed. The voltmeter should indicate 0 V and 4 V or more alternately. If the motor does not indicate the specified voltage, replace the motor.
