DTC 54

DTC 54: ABS Fail-safe Relay
DTC 61: Low +B-FSR Voltage
1. Check the No. 18 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES - Reinstall the fuse, and go to step 2.
NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck.
2. Clear the DTC.
3. Test-drive the vehicle.
Does the ABS indicator come on, and are DTC 54 or DTC 61 indicated?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - intermittent failure; the vehicle is OK at this time.
4. Disconnect the ABS modulator-control unit 25P connector.
5. Measure the voltage between the ABS modulator-control unit 25P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground.





Is there battery voltage?
YES - Check for loose terminals in the ABS modulator-control unit 25P connector. If connections are OK, replace the ABS modulator-control unit.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the No. 18 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the ABS modulator-control unit.
