How to Troubleshoot a Circuit at the PCMSpecial Tools Required
Backprobe set 07SAZ-001000A (two required)
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS components locations, precautions, and procedures in the SRS section before performing repairs or service.
1. Remove the glove box stops, then open the glove box.
2. Remove the harness connector clamp (A) from its bracket.
3. Loosen the mounting nut (B) on the lower right of the PCM, and remove the mounting bolt (C) and nut (D) on the left of the PCM.
4. Lift the PCM up to clear the mounting nut on the lower right of the PCM, then pull out the PCM (E).
5. Connect the backprobe adapters (A) to the stacking patch cords (B), and connect the cords to a multimeter (C).
6. Using the wire insulation as a guide for the contoured tip of the backprobe adapter, gently slide the tip into the connector from the wire side until it touches the end of the wire terminal.
7. If you cannot get to the wire side of the connector or the wire side is sealed, disconnect the connector and use the tester probe to probe the connectors from the terminal side. Do not force the probe into the connector.
