Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Brake Booster Replacement
1. Remove the master cylinder.





2. Remove the cable bracket (A) from the throttle body, then disconnect the throttle cable end (B) and actuator cable end (C) from the throttle linkage.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose (D) from the brake booster (E).





4. Remove the clip (A) and joint pin (B).
5. Remove the brake booster mounting nuts (C).





6. Pull the brake booster (A) forward, and remove it from the engine compartment.
7. Install the brake booster in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
After installation, adjust brake pedal height and brake pedal free play. After installation adjust the actuator cable and the throttle cable if necessary.
