NOTE: Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.

1. Clean the ATF cooler.
2. Remove the used grease in the flywheel hub cap and flywheel splines.

3. Fill the inside of the flywheel hub cap (A) and coat the flywheel hub splines (B) with about 1.5 to 2.5 grams (0.05 to 0.09 oz.) of Super High Temp Urea Grease (P/N 08798-9002). Do not overfill the flywheel hub cap with grease.

4. Install the new rubber sealing ring (A) on the input shaft (B).
5. Install the flywheel (C) on the input shaft, and install the 14 mm dowel pins (D) in the flywheel housing.
6. Place the transmission on the jack, and raise the transmission to the engine level.

7. Install the rear and lower transmission housing mounting bolts.

8. Install the upper and front transmission housing mounting bolts.

9. Install the transmission mount foot (A) and transmission mount/bracket (B) on the body with 12 x 1.25 mm bolts (C) loosely.
10. Secure the transmission mount bracket on the transmission with the nuts (D) and new bolt (E), and tighten the 12 x 1.25 mm bolts (C) to the specified torque.
11. Install the transmission mount cover (F) and ground cable terminal (G).

12. Install the lower torque rod bracket with the new bolts.

13. Install the new set ring (A) on the intermediate shaft (B).
14. Install the intermediate shaft and heat shield (C).

15. Install the new set ring (A) on the left driveshaft (B).
16. Clean the areas where the driveshaft contacts the transmission (differential) with solvent or carburetor cleaner, and dry with compressed air. Then install the left driveshaft in the differential, be sure not to allow dust or other foreign particles to enter the transmission. Turn the steering knuckle fully outward, and slide the driveshaft into the differential until you feel its set ring fully engage the side gear.
17. Install the right driveshaft over the intermediate shaft. Turn the steering knuckle fully Outward, and slide the driveshaft over the intermediate shaft until you feel the set ring of the intermediate shaft fully engage the driveshaft.

18. Set the front subframe adapter (VSB02C000016) to the subframe by looping the strap (A) over the front of the subframe, then secure the strap with the stop (B), then tighten the wing nut (C).
19. Line up the slots in the arms with the bolt holes on the corner of the jack base, and tighten the bolts, then lift the subframe up to the body.

20. Loosely install the new subframe mounting bolts.

21. Align the reference marks (A) on the subframe (B) with the edge (C) of the body, and tighten the mounting bolts to the specified torque.

22. Secure the lower torque rod with the bolts.
23. Secure the steering gearbox heat shield with the bolt.
24. Remove the engine hanger.
25. Position the steering gearbox on the gearbox mounting bracket of the subframe.

26. Install the gearbox stiffener (A) and bolts, and tighten the bolts loosely.

27. Install the gearbox stiffener (A) and bolts, and tighten the bolts loosely.

28. Install the steering gearbox mounting bracket bolts.
29. Tighten the steering gearbox mounting bolts and stiffener mounting bolts to the specified torque.

30. Install both body mount brackets with the new bolts.

31. Install both lower arms (A) to both ball joints (B), and loosely install the new mounting nuts and bolts.
32. Tighten the nuts and bolts to 59 Nm (6.0 kgf-m, 43 ft. lbs.) in the following order; the nut on the front (C), the nut on the rear (D), then the bolt (E).

33. Secure the steering gearbox heat shield with the bolt.
34. Install the exhaust pipe rubber mount (A).

35. Secure the ATF filter bracket (A) and the IMA harness cover (B) with the bolts.

36. Remove the universal eyelet and spacers.

37. Install the harness cover (A) on its bracket (B), and secure it with the bolts.
38. Secure the connector bracket (C) with the bolts, and connect the connector.

39. Attach the flywheel to the drive plate with six bolts. Rotate the crankshaft pulley to tighten the bolts to 1/2 of the specified torque, then to the final torque, in a crisscross pattern. After tightening the last bolt, check that the crankshaft rotates freely.

40. Connect the transmission range switch connector (A), and install the harness clamp (B) on its bracket (C).
41. Connect the CVT output shaft (driven pulley) speed sensor connector (D), CVT speed sensor connector (E), and CVT speed sensor (secondary) connector (F).

42. Install the harness clamps on the clamp bracket.

43. Apply molybdenum grease to the bore of the shift cable end collar (A), and attach the shift cable end to the control lever (B). Insert the control pin (C) through the control lever hole (D), through the shift cable end hole, and into the control lever slotted hole (E) in the direction shown. Push the control pin until its flange (F) contacts the control lever surface.
44. Insert the snap pin (G) in the direction shown through the control pin hole and out the opening (H) of the control lever so that the hooked end (I) of the snap pin snaps into the countersunk hole (J) of the control pin.

45. Secure the shift cable bracket (A) on the transmission with the bolts.
46. Install the air cleaner housing mounting bracket (B).

47. Connect the ATF cooler hoses (A) to the ATF cooler lines (B), and secure the hoses with the clips (C).
