DTC 67

DTC 67: Brake Pedal Position Switch (Hardware)
1. Check the DTCs using the HDS.
Is DTC 91 or 92 indicated with DTC 67 at a time?
YES - Troubleshoot DTC 91 and/or 92, and recheck.
NO - Go to step 2.
2. Clear the DTC using the HDS.
Does the VSA system indicator come on and is DTC 67 indicated?
YES - Go to step 3.
NO - Go to step 10.
3. On the HDS, select ABS TCS VSA, then in the DATA LIST. Check BRAKE SWITCH.
Is the brake switch ON with the brake pedal released?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit.
4. Check the brake pedal position switch for function and adjustment.
Is the switch OK and its adjustment OK?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Replace or adjust the brake pedal position switch.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and jump the SCS line with the HDS, then turn the ignition switch OFF.

NOTE: This must be done to protect the powertrain control module (PCM) from damage.

6. Disconnect PCM connector A (44P).
7. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).





8. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminal A8 and body ground.
Is there 1 V or more with the brake pedal released?
YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the brake pedal position switch and the PCM (A8).
NO - Go to step 9.
9. With the HDS, select ABS, TCS/VSA, then the DATA LIST.
Is the brake pressure at 0.0 with the brake pedal released?
YES - The system is OK at this time.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Remove the brake switch.
Does the brake pressure drop to 0.0?
YES - install and adjust the brake switch.
NO - Refer to the brake system inspection and test.
